Esta región vitivinícola comprende los deparamentos de San Rafael y General Alvear, donde su geografía está maracada por los ríos Diamante y Atuel. Muchas de las Bodegas que se encuentran en esta región están abiertas al turismo, muchas de ellas aún pertenecen a tradicionales familias que le dieron origen. El sur mendocino es elegido por miles de personas para realizar todo tipo de actividades como esquí, deportes acuáticos y turismo aventra. Pero no es sólo esto, el Sur también es el lugar donde se producen vinos y espumantes de tradiconales bodegas, que Usted no puede dejar d degustar.

En San Rafael: Balbi, Bianchi, Suter, Jean Rivier, Barral y Roca, Lávaque y Goyenechea. También puede visitar pequeñas bodegas en Gral. Alvear y reservas naturales en Malargüe.

This southern winemaking area of Mendoza comprises the districts of San Rafael and General Alvear. The geografhy of this area is marked out by the Diamante and Atuel rivers. Its major tourist attractions are Valle Grande, the Canyon of the Atuel River, El Nihuil Dam and the Diamnate River Basin where the dams Agua del Toro y Los Reyunos are situated. Sorrounded by a magnificent mountainous landscape, these are the ideal sites for adventure tourism and aquatic sports.

Winemaking is one of de most important activities in the region. Many of the wineries, which are opened to tourism, belong to the traditional Mendocinian families who founded them. Moreover, this region has not been alien to the wave of investment that prevails in the province.
